In 2015, Lambton College established the Bio-Industrial Process Research Centre to address critical gaps in applied research and bolster the emerging Sarnia-Lambton Bio-Hybrid and Chemistry Cluster. BPRC plays a pivotal role in supporting Canadian bioindustrial SMEs, providing essential assistance for the development of new or optimization of existing biotechnologies, processes, and products.
Through a collaborative approach, BPRC works with diverse businesses, from startups and SMEs to large national and international companies. We provide access to state-of-the-art equipment, infrastructure, expertise, and funding sources, empowering these entities to reach their research and development (R&D) goals and overcome intricate challenges.
Initially established through an NSERC Innovation Enhancement grant, BPRC evolved into a Technology Access Centre (TAC), part of the College and Community Innovation Program managed by Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) in 2019.
